We'd love to hear what you think. Please share with us your announcements, thoughts, comments, ideas, suggestions and anything else you would like the rest of our parish to know. You can post a new thought or comment on an existing one. This section was made just for you so let's have a healthy exchange going here. We look forward to hearing from you. This is our "PARISH COMMUNITY BOARD."
On Sunday May 24, 2009, a friend and I were asked 20 minutes into the Mass to be in charge of the ushers because the person responsible was not there. We have been asked to help as an usher before, but we have never organized or directed the ushers, and we did not know what to do. We tried the best we could and we did not do too badly, however during communion there were not enough Eucharistic ministers and we were also asked to help. We also have never assisted as Eucharistic ministers and we also did not know what to do. We could not help but to ask ourselves: where are all the people that should have been here?
ReplyDeleteIt was disappointing to see how disorganized the service in the Mass was. I understand that bad things happen from time to time, but I have seen how organized these ministries have been in the past and I think it could be better.
I have brought up this topic before and I have been told that there is no one that wants to volunteer to help organize it better. So, I want to ask the question: If our church is filled with parishioners and active laymen and laywomen, why is it that there is no one to offer their services for the Mass?
